UPDATE:Polly is on the road to recovery, thanks to your support. She has left Louisiana on a Greater Good Charities Good Flight and is in a loving foster home in Idaho. Thank you for helping this sweet pup get a second chance.
Pollycame to the shelterwith a severe laceration and swelling from a collar embedded in her neck.Thecollar was removed and Polly's wounds treated, andthe swellingbegan to go down. But back at the shelter, itincreasedagain, andpoor Polly wentback to the vet for supportive care and observation.
This sweet pup'sdoctors determined that her swelling is due to strangulation from scar tissue that developed as a result of the embedded collar. Pollyneeds to undergo surgery in stages to break down the scar tissue, release the strictures in her neckand reduce the swelling in her face. Then, she can begin the next chapter of life happy and healthy!
