Novak was reported as a stray when locals saw him wandering around begging for food and water. Anearby shelter prepared to take him in, but before hecould be rescued, poor Novak was shot and disappeared into the woods.A rescue group conducted a search andfortunately found Novak, rushing him immediately to a veterinary hospital.

The bullet had fractured Novak's jaw and several teeth, and his mouth was severely infected. Doctors performed emergency surgery to remove the bullet from his jaw, but this pupneeds additional surgery to removeseven broken teeth and correct his jaw. While Novak waits for this operation, he's taking antibiotics tobeat his infection and reduce inflammation. The good news for Novak is that oncehe's finallyrecovered, he'll be able to find a loving home!
